Decide Whether to Stay or Separate With Clarity

When a relationship feels uncertain, staying stuck is its own kind of strain. This intensive helps you move out of indecision and into a clear, grounded direction—together or apart.

When a relationship reaches a point of uncertainty, it can feel like you’re stuck in a loop.

One day, you feel hopeful. Next, you feel disconnected or ready to walk away. Conversations about the future often go in circles—without resolution.

This intensive is designed to help you move out of that cycle and into a clear, grounded decision about what comes next.

What this intensive is designed to do

This is not traditional couples therapy.

It is a structured decision-making process designed to help you determine whether to:

  • Move toward repairing the relationship

  • Move toward separation

  • Or enter a defined period of intentional discernment

Rather than continuing to debate or avoid the question, we create the conditions for clarity and direction.

What the intensive includes

This work is conducted in extended, structured sessions to allow for depth without getting stuck.

Pre-Intensive Preparation

You will complete brief questionnaires and provide background information to help guide the process.

  • During the intensive, we focus on:

    • Clarifying each partner’s true position (not just reactive statements)

    • Understanding the patterns that have led to this point

    • Differentiating ambivalence from avoidance

    • Exploring what repair would realistically require

    • Exploring what separation would involve

This is not about persuading either partner.
It is about helping both of you arrive at a clear and grounded decision.

  • By the end of the intensive, you will have:

    • Clarity about whether you are:

      • Moving toward repair

      • Moving toward separation

      • Or continuing discernment with clear structure

    • A deeper understanding of your relationship patterns

    • Language to communicate your decision clearly and respectfully

    • A defined plan for what the next phase will look like

Most importantly, you will no longer feel stuck in the same unresolved question.

Who this is for

This intensive is likely a good fit if:

  • You are unsure whether this relationship should continue

  • One or both partners feel conflicted, disconnected, or uncertain

  • Conversations about the future go in circles

  • You want a structured process for making a decision

  • You are willing to engage honestly in the process

Who this is not for

This may not be the right fit if:

  • You have already made a firm decision to separate

  • You are hoping your partner will be convinced to stay

  • There is an active crisis (e.g., recent infidelity) requiring stabilization first

  • You are looking for unstructured space without direction

How This Differs from Weekly Therapy

Weekly therapy can be helpful—but when the central question is:

“Should we stay together or not?”

An open-ended approach can keep couples stuck for months.

This intensive is:

  • Focused on decision-making, not indefinite exploration

  • Structured and time-limited

  • Designed to create clarity and movement quickly
